As always, great portraits. But these seem to have just a little extra that I just can't quite articulate. Very nice work.

I am amazed as to how people get to their twilight years without the trappings of modern society. I guess the clean air, unadulterated food, simple and stress free life may have a lot to do with it :)

I see. I am wondering how their tattoos were design and if women here have tattoos, too. But since you were not able to meet here people with tattoo, I assume there are lesser of them who have tattoos. Most of those with tattoo must have already passed away of old age...

mh, lovely photographs Sidney but I read that the rice terraces are being eaten by a scavenging work. I hope they found a way to eradicate them. It is becoming crowded there and "touristy". Always a pleasure to visit your blog. I have been lurking and I come back every time I miss home. Thank you.

@The Nomadic Pinoy.
No, nobody is asking money in Mayoyao. Not so many tourists do the effort to go further than Banaue or Batad...so it is still unspoiled.
I disliked Banaue because everybody wanted money from me... :-( for every picture I took in Banaue there was someone cashing in. I felt like an ATM machine.
@ Dodong. No...I was not able to meet someone with a tattoo. Ifugao are former headhunters and like the Kalinga those warriors got tattoos all over their body.
